Louis Barabbas is in town and I was fortunate to meet him at Valliard Ishinjerro’s delightful pit on Aungier Street. Louis is here to promote some album of his and is doing the rounds of the taverns, dens and foul watering holes of the city but I couldn’t care less. All I wanted to talk to him about was books. We were surrounded by Valliard’s teetering stacks and over a glass of wine, we got through Herman Meville, A.S Byatt, Alan Hollinghurst, John Steinbeck and Patrick O’Brien to name but a few. I won’t inflict the whole conversation on you but I’ve recorded a sample and, of course, Louis manages to sneak in a plug for his new album, Get Religion! Oh, to hell with it! I’ll play you a track at the end.
Nice ,think i could happily listen to Louis!!
A lovely chat. I enjoyed that.
This guy sounds great, I had never heard of him. Thanks.
